He started his career as a cricketer at the age of fifteen in the year 2015. In 2015 his elder brother introduced Shaheen Afridi to hard-ball cricket at the Federally Administrated Tribal Area (FATA) cricket team.
Shaheen Afridi was selected for the FATA cricket team as this trial was conducted for selecting players for FATA.

He was also selected for the Under-19 Asia Cup that was held in Sri Lanka in December 2015. In the opening match of Under-19, Shaheen Afridi took three wickets for 27 runs.
