Carlos Ghosn was born on March 9, 1954, in Porto Velho, Brazil. His parent’s name was Rose and Jorge Ghosn.
At age 6, he moved to Beirut, Lebanon with his mother and sister (Claudine). In 1974 he graduated as an Engineer. After graduation, he started work for the Michelin plant, being in charge of plants in both France and Germany.
In 1985, he traveled to Rio de Janeiro where he would be named as COO, (Head of Operations) of Michelin South America.
A year later he would be appointed as CEO of the subsidiary and begin restructuring it, leading the purchase of Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company.
In 1999 he was an indispensable part for Renault to become the top shareholder of the Japanese automaker Nissan, after buying 36.5% of its shares.
In 2007, Renault-Nissan Alliance bought 67% of the participation of the Russian automaker AvtoVAZ.
